Delegates from around the world descended on Amsterdam this week to discuss yet again how to impose the utterly discredited theory of “sustainable development” on the world, this time in the form of the Earth Charter.
At its heart, says Joe Klein, author of the disturbing new book “Global Deception: The UN’s Stealth Assault on America’s Freedom,” (World Ahead, hardcover, $25.95, ISBN 0974670146), "this movement aims for nothing less than UN regulation of American companies and citizens, who would be taxed to meet indeterminate “global goals” as determined by a bunch of academics and self-proclaimed world leaders. Many at the UN think the Earth Charter document should take the place of our Constitution."
According to Klein, "The Malthusian theory behind ‘sustainable development’ has long been discredited. Technical change unleashed by a free market economy has proven Malthus wrong time and time again. And yet via the Earth Charter movement, the theory lives on.”
Still, while it’s easy for rational people to dismiss the Earth Charter Initiative as typical left-wing hijinks, Joe Klein says, “Not so fast.”
“The Earth Charter is a document that has been touted as ‘an authoritative synthesis of values, principles, and aspirations that are widely shared by growing numbers of men and women in all regions of the world,” says Klein. “In actuality, it’s a bunch of vaguely-worded nonsense that Kofi Annan minion Maurice Strong, the hypocritical Canadian industrialist billionaire behind it, has said should take the place of the Ten Commandments – or the U.S. Constitution. And thanks to the overwhelmingly liberal cast of American education and many of our courts, the Earth Charter movement is gaining adherents not just in schools, but among American jurists eager to enshrine its pie-in-the-sky tenets into our laws.”
According to Klein, “Anyone reading the Earth Charter with a critical eye will be struck not just by its naivete, but by the contradictory nature of its goals. How can you force the redistribution of wealth on one hand, when on the other you’re destroying the very means by which wealth is produced via draconian environmental regulations? The implementation of the Earth Charter in any form would be suicidal –practically and politically.”
That grim reality, however, hasn’t stopped the Earth Charter’s supporters from seeking UN approval – and a foothold in the American judicial system. In “Global Deception,” Klein states that, “The goal of Earth Charter advocates is nothing less than the overthrow of national sovereignty in favor of ‘good globalization’– in other words, a world government. What the supporters of the Earth Charter seek is an end to the rights of nations –and individuals - to chart their own course.”
Harvard Law School graduate and practicing attorney Joe Klein continues, “My book is subtitled "The UN’s Stealth Assault on America’s Freedom" for a good reason. The Earth Charter is just another example of how globalists are trying to manipulate the UN charter to serve their goal of bringing America to heel.”
