Miami Beach, FL (PRWEB) November 10, 2005
Miami Beach, FL November 10, 2005 -- Gambling911.com came clean on Tuesday with news that its sports commentator and former Indianapolis Colts cheerleader, Lisa Perry, is indeed featured in the much ballyhooed December holiday issue of Playboy Magazine.
"We attempted to keep a lid on the story in light of the Carolina Panthers controversy taking place this week," commented Gambling911.com Founder and President, Christopher Costigan. "Gambling911 did not want Lisa lumped in with a 'seedy' scandal and we are extremely protective of her. As timing would have it, the issue began arriving in subscriber's mail boxes the afternoon the Carolina Cheerleader "Scandal" broke. But Lisa's Playboy piece is innocent and fun."
The words innocent and fun and Playboy are rarely used all together in the same sentence, however, in the case of Lisa Perry there could be a fair amount of truth to the statement.
In the interview, Perry claims she was let go by the Colts cheerleader organization for violating an "anti-fraternization rule". No Colts players were dismissed as a result, only Lisa, who served five years with the franchise and was never late a single day of practice. Ms. Perry was a Captain for the squad. It is only fitting that Playboy lists her under the section "Employee of the Month."
Gambling911.com refused to back down from a letter sent out by the Colts legal department demanding the web site back down from referring to Lisa Perry as a former Indianapolis Colts cheerleader.
"Facts are facts and we are not going to erase five years of Lisa's precious work history where she spent countless hours helping those less fortunate through community service with the Colts simply because her previous employer asks us to do so," Costigan said.
Gambling911.com's Founder and President offered up yet another reason to be proud of Ms. Perry.
"Since she's been on board at Gambling911.com handicapping NFL games, Lisa has picked the Colts to win every week and they remain undefeated going into Week 10. The Colts organization didn't just give up a cheerleader, it seems to us they gave up Merlin the Magnificent."
Lisa's ability to pick NFL winners has resulted in her aptly being named "Lisa The Greek Perry" by many in the sports betting world, with the notable exception of Week 8 when she barely got a single game right.
"We almost sent her packing to the Houston Texans after that week's fiasco," Costigan joked.
A current Colts cheerleader, wishing to remain nameless, told Gambling911 that Lisa did not deserve to be released and that she was an exemplary figure in the local community.
"Lisa (Perry) was loved by nearly all the girls on the squad and the (Colts) players really enjoyed her as well," this cheerleader stated.
And while some would argue that appearing in Playboy might be misconstrued as "provocative", Gambling911.com's President feels otherwise.
"Playboy is a classy publication and Gambling911.com has zero apprehensions about Ms. Perry appearing in this magazine even though we ourselves are a family-oriented web site," Costigan stated. "Lisa is a very talented writer and would never place herself in a compromising position. It is very disheartening to read about Lisa's final days with the Colts organization and how she was so abruptly shown the door. She was a huge fan favorite and obviously has moved on to bigger and better things, both Playboy and Gambling911.com."
Ms. Perry had many an adoring fan it seemed and that fan base continues to grow now that she is a world renowned sports commentator for a web site that has been featured in The Wall Street Journal.
"When I heard she was appearing in Playboy, I ran out to my local newsstand to pick up a copy but they had not received the December delivery as of yet," commented Earl Watson, a long time fan and season ticket holder of the Indianapolis Colts. "Lisa's been sorely missed by both myself and my buddies. These teams fail to appreciate the joy these girls bring especially to kids, through the charitable events they're involved with for the community. Lisa has left a lasting impression on our community."
Each squad member is required to do a minimum of 15 charity events.
The December issue of Playboy is coming out on news stands now.
