Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 17, 2005
Poker has quickly become an industry that has generated billions of dollars and the pop culture phenomenon with the most impressive rate of growth that America has ever witnessed. And is precisely because of this progressive hip ethos, that HIGHROLLER Magazine is promoting a Texas Hold ‘Em Poker tournament this Saturday, December 3rd at 4:15PM at the famed Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, CA., to raise money for the production of a feature film that promotes Mothers Against Drunk Driving’s (MADD) message.
HIGHROLLER Magazine will be supporting this cause by prominently sponsoring the tournament and offering press coverage to be published on its website http://www.highrollerlife.com.
The tournament is expected to attract over 400 participants. The Bicycle Casino will be waiving the $30.00 entry fee to any player that brings an unwrapped “Toys For Tots” gift valued at ten dollars ($10) or more. The buy-in for this event is $200, with $20 from every entry and re-buy going to the MADD supported cause. The prize pool for this event is expected to go over $100,000.
The funds raised will be used to produce a film that will become part of MADD’s School Outreach Program. “Exit 131” was written by filmmaker Kyle Gates Pagach of Exit 131 Productions as part of his “Education through Entertainment” initiative. The organization will use the film as a catalyst for teenagers and adults to create dialogue focusing on the negative effects of underage drinking and impaired driving.
”This will be a tremendous opportunity to support a great initiative with the mission of educating teenagers on the serious topic of underage drinking and drunk driving” said Ryan Jacobs, COO of HIGHROLLER Media. He continued saying: “America is a great nation that has given us all great opportunities to grow as individuals and business people. We believe it is important that we look after our most precious asset: the nation’s youth; and we hope to get that message across with our support of MADD and the sponsoring of events such as this one.”
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is a non-profit, grass roots organization dedicated to stopping drunk driving & preventing underage drinking through education.
