During the month of December, 6,000 holiday shoppers were surveyed in 10 New Jersey malls, including the Garden State Plaza in Paramus, and the Short Hills Mall in Short Hills, New Jersey.
Shoppers were asked if they had bought at least one item online during the 2005 Christmas Season. If they answered yes, they were asked to look at 10 new shopping websites on a laptop computer, and to choose the one they found "most entertaining." Nearly 3,450 shoppers chose http://www.Logopogo.com, an Amazon Affiliate website which offers 10,000,000 products in a unique and creative format, as "the best by far."
Others surveyed chose various specialty websites, including sites which offered clothing, auto supplies and vacation packages, as their favorite new site.
Donna Jackson, a housewife from Fort Lee, New Jersey said, "Until I saw Logopogo, I had no idea that Amazon.com offered such a tremendous variety of products, and so many bargains. I always thought of Amazon as a bookseller, and I often buy books on Amazon because they are cheaper than the bookstores. I definitely plan to visit Logopogo for other types of merchandise when I'm too tired to drive to the mall."
Peter Contursi, a carpenter from Westwood, New Jersey was also surprised at the availability of non-book items featured on Logopogo. "To be honest, I buy a lot of stuff at Home Depot. But I saw at least two tools that were priced less than I just paid. Logopogo is a fun experience. I'll probably check it out once a month."
Logopogo is owned by New York Times bestselling author and Wyckoff, New Jersey art dealer Les Fox. Fox is best known as co-author of "The Beanie Baby Handbook," which sold 4,000,000 copies in 1998. Les and Sue Fox, who have been married for 37 years, buy, sell and collect American art. They also build luxury homes in Bergen County and Palm Beach, Florida and are writing a new novel about the long lost daughter of a famous artist. Logopogo is their pet project, and may turn out to be the most successful business venture the Foxes have ever done together.
