Halifax, NS (PRWEB) February 1, 2006 -–
A new website - http://www.firepatquinn.com - asks hockey fans whether Toronto Maple Leafs coach Pat Quinn should be relived of his duties. Meanwhile, online sportsbook Nine.com has posted odds on when Quinn will be fired.
The Toronto Maple Leafs, arguably the most beloved franchise in the NHL, are struggling this season.
As of Sunday, they had lost eight straight games and had fallen into the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference standings.
It's looking increasingly like the Leafs, who have not won the Stanley Cup since 1967, will once again be eliminated from the playoffs early, if they make the playoffs at all.
Pat Quinn has been the head coach of the Leafs since 1998-99. While he has had modest success, Quinn has never taken the Leafs past the third round of the playoffs.
Puckline.net, a leading hockey site that caters to hockey fans and bettors, wants to know whether hockey fans, particularly Leafs fans, think it's time for a new coach.
As a vehicle for fans to voice their opinions, Puckline.net has launched a new website – http://www.firepatquinn.com.
“We want to hear from Leafs fans who are tired of Mr. Quinn and why,” said Reed Holmes, editor of Puckline.net. “Of course, we also want to hear from fans who think Quinn should stay.”
Meanwhile, online gaming site Nine.com (http://www.nine.com), one of Puckline.net's trusted sponsors, has posted betting odds on when (or if) Quinn will be fired or resigns.
Currently the odds favor him being fired or resigning before February 8 at -110. Conversely, he is a longshot to survive until the end of the regular season at +1000.
