Hartville, OH (PRWEB) February 2, 2006
The International Association of IT Asset Managers announced today that a newly updated Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional courseware has been released. The CHAMP program provides IT asset managers with the skills needed to manage hardware assets throughout the life cycle focusing on the goals of uncovering savings, gaining control, reducing risk, improving performance and increased accountability. Hardware asset managers are taught to examine each point in the life cycle from an analytical perspective so that decisions are made based on goals and supported by the organization’s infrastructure of policies.
Enhancements for 2006 include increased examples of real-life analytics contributed by ITAM professionals. The vendor management section of the course now has a sample vendor scorecard while the section on gaining executive buy-in has a sample presentation presenting the business practice of redeployment that was successfully used to launch a program. Other changes include a refresh on the legislative changes impacting hardware asset management as well as increasing the library of standard terminology used by the profession.
“I believe that this course and certification is an important step in the growth of hardware asset management, and IT asset management in general as a profession,” states Barbara Rembiesa, President of IAITAM. “It is crucial to deliver training that is relevant and that can be directly applied when attendees return to their workplaces. Real examples are an important element of that value and I encourage ITAM professionals to continue to help set standards for our role in our organizations.”
