Daytona 500 Highlights America’s #1 Spectator Sport & Need to be Wary of Ticket Scalpers

With tickets to the Daytona 500 sold out faster than the cars circling the legendary track, ticket scalpers and counterfeiters look to make big bucks from eager fans.

The Daytona 500 is one of the highlights of the NASCAR® season, and with NASCAR® being the #1 spectator sport in the country, tickets to the event are scarce.

Eager fans of NASCAR® are hungry to be part of one of the biggest events in sports each and every year, and come February 19th, tickets that are now extremely difficult to find, will be nearly impossible to find.

Some fans will take a chance and head down to the motorway in hopes of buying tickets from scalpers. Tickets the day of the event can easily cost hundreds of dollars over face value and can prove more costly in the long run.

“You run two risks when buying from scalpers outside the speedway. The first risk is that you are caught engaging in an illegal transaction, the second is that you could be paying a lot of money for fraudulent tickets,” S. Spears, spokesperson, Stage Front Tickets, explained.

Though some hardcore fans will run the risk of being caught participating in an illegal transaction, they are not willing to run the risk of spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on fraudulent tickets.

Counterfeit tickets are becoming harder to detect and even the biggest NASCAR® fans would be hard pressed to identify a fraudulent ticket until they try to gain access to the venue with it. This growing problem has lead most fans to buy tickets from established, reputable ticket agents.

“When fans buy their tickets for the Daytona 500, or any other event from a reputable company like ours, they have the security of knowing they are buying legitimate tickets from a legitimate source,” Spears explains. “This peace of mind lets the fans enjoy the event and that’s what it’s all about – the love of the sport,” she continued.

The sophistication of counterfeit ticket scalping has reached epic proportions with venues taking extra measures to ensure the integrity of the event and the venue. People caught with counterfeit tickets will not only find themselves escorted from the building, but they may also find themselves in significant legal trouble.

The Daytona 500 is one of the toughest events in sports to buy tickets for, with the speedway issuing the majority of tickets on a seniority basis leaving the rest of the country’s biggest fan base scrambling to find tickets. While legitimate ticket agencies such as Stage Front Tickets offer tickets to the event, some fans may still risk significant financial and legal loss and try to buy tickets outside the event from illegal scalpers.

Stage Front Tickets, Inc., based in Laurel, MD since 1985, is a member of the Better Business Bureau, the Baltimore/Washington Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Ticket Brokers. Offering tickets for the most sought after sports events and entertainment events throughout the country, Stage Front Tickets provides a safe, reliable medium for fans to purchase legitimate tickets for any event.
