Akamai Software has released version 4.8 of SwordSearcher, a Bible study application for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP. SwordSearcher provides users with many tools to enhance Bible study, with an intuitive interface that is easy to learn and use, for both devotional and in-depth Bible study.
New for version 4.8 are additional library resources, including the Keil and Delitzsch Old Testament Commentary, John Lightfoot's commentary on the Gospels, Charles Finney's Systematic Theology, and Edward M. Bounds on Prayer. These study resources are included with over 50 others in the SwordSearcher Deluxe Edition study library, including Bible texts, commentaries, dictionaries, topical guides, maps, charts, and illustrations. Other improvements to the software have also been made in this release.
In addition to making Bible searches fast and simple, SwordSearcher includes a Topic and Verse Guide function designed to make accessing a vast amount of library material as simple as typing in a verse reference or subject. A user of the software can specify any verse reference or passage to study, and SwordSearcher will instantly show them every book, commentary, topical, or dictionary resource that references the verse or passage.

Akamai Software has also released version 2.0 of Daily Bible and Prayer, a personal devotion application for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP. Daily Bible and Prayer provides users with the means to create unlimited Bible reading plans, which can be based on two different Bible-in-a-year methods, or custom plans based on the desired protions of Scripture and time. Also included is C. H. Spurgeon's Faith's Checkbook devotional, and a Prayer Tracker for managing a personal prayer list.
