Ft. Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) February 22, 2006
The South Florida Interactive Marketing Association (SFIMA) is pleased to announce that renowned artist Romero Britto has designed the awards for the first Modem Media South Florida Interactive Excellence Awards sponsored by AOL. Each marketing campaign award presented to winners will be an original and signed piece of Britto artwork.
The 6 ¾ X 7 X 2 inch etched laminate SoFIE Award will be awarded to 14 winners during the awards gala at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., Friday, February 24, 2006. The event begins with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m. and will include a ceremony honoring the winners with the best interactive media trends for their categories.
As a creative yet impoverished child from Brazil, Britto often painted images on scraps of cardboard and newspaper. Britto traveled from Brazil to Europe and then from Europe to the United States to exhibit and sell his art. By 1989, people of all ages and walks of life were beginning to recognize and enjoy Britto art and his style.
That same year, Britto was chosen to add a splash of color to Absolut Vodka’s high-profile ad campaign. This incredible opportunity catapulted Britto into the limelight, placing him alongside artists such as Andy Warhol and Keith Haring.
Individual tickets for the event are $150 for members, $200 for non-members and $100 for finalists. Tickets must be purchased in advance and there are no sales at the door. Visit http://www.sofieawards.com to register and pay.
