Paul Abbott Named Vice President of Marketing at AtTask

AtTask, Inc., a leading provider of project management software, today announced that Paul Abbott has joined the company as its first vice president of marketing. Abbott, a 10 year product management and marketing veteran, has been selected to manage all aspects of the company’s worldwide product, corporate, field and partner marketing activities. Most recently, Abbott served as a product manager at, the leading provider of genealogy records on the Web. During his time at, Abbott helped doubled annual sales of the company’s MyFamily People Finder product within six months. He also integrated People Finder data collection into, and within the first week, it became the company’s most profitable and searched database.

“Paul brings several years of proven technology experience and successful product marketing efforts that will benefit our company as we work to expand our reach and grow our market share in a competitive space,” said Scott Johnson, chief executive officer of AtTask. “Paul’s responsibilities have ranged from researching, developing and launching new products at Novell and, to directing global marketing campaigns and managing strategic partnerships at IBM and Digital Island. Prior to, Abbott directed all the sales and marketing for HVAC Solutions and nTeras. He also served as the global director of product marketing for financial services for Digital Island, and he worked as a senior product manager for Novell and IBM. Abbott earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in engineering management from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
