Atlassian Confluence has been recognized twice in recent weeks by the editors at Network Computing as best overall commercial wiki. In their April 1 issue, Network Computing selected Atlassian Confluence as the Editor's Choice for best enterprise wiki. Shortly thereafter, Confluence won an annual 2006 Network Computing Well-Connected Award.

After extensive testing and head-to-head comparisons with other wikis by the IT analyst editors at Network Computing, Confluence beat out the competition. As stated by Ron Anderson, Lab Director at Network Computing, in the review, "Our Editor's Choice, Atlassian Software Systems' Confluence 2.1.2, has all the features that suit an enterprise wiki. It's easy to install and set up, yet flexible and extensible. It supports user and group access controls down to the page level. The price is reasonable, and, most important, the software doesn't demand extensive training or users with degrees in rocket science."

Last week, Network Computing also announced that Confluence was selected for the Well-Connected Awards. "The Well-Connected Awards are unique because they're the only industry awards given by technologists based on real-world use and integration. We view all products, technologies and services from the same perspective as our readers - our peers - do," said John Siefert, Publisher of Network Computing. "This is an important distinction from any other award program - the products selected in the Well-Connected Awards have been tested in an actual business environment and judged by our editors themselves. They are truly innovative solutions that work - and we have the metrics to prove it."

"Confluence is one of those applications that takes everyone by surprise. Until they use it, no one can believe that this inexpensive and simple application can become an organisation's best tool for knowledge sharing and collaboration," said Mike Cannon-Brookes, co-founder and CEO at Atlassian. "We're really honoured that Network Computing has recognised Confluenced and helped to independently validate its capabilities and benefits."

Used by over 1,200 organisations in more than 45 countries, Confluence makes it easy for teams to collaborate, share knowledge, and publish web content. Wiki technology has emerged as one of the most practical knowledge management technologies available today. As a collaborative tool, wikis allow users to create, search, store and share information effortlessly.

Feature rich, simple to use, and capable of scaling to meet the needs of thousands of simultaneous enterprise users, Confluence has received countless rave reviews from customers, such as:

"We liked Confluence so much we set up a company dedicated to it - now we're using it for our website, intranet, everything! We're even using it as an online application framework!" -- Guy Fraser, Adaptavist

"Confluence is beautiful. I love this darn product." -- Michael Rejniak, Artisan Creative

"Adoption within our enterprise has been epidemic." -- Robert Sanders, EarthLink

Confluence is free for qualified open source projects and non-profits, and commercial users will benefit from an upfront and no-hassle pricing and licensing policy. Current Confluence customers with active maintenance can upgrade at no cost to the new version at any time.
