Throughout the history of the Earth, there has never previously lived a species capable of comprehending their existence, until the arrival of homo sapiens. Our development via a series of successive evolutionary intermediates has been a spectacular achievement, and made all the more remarkable because of the relatively insignificant amount of time this has taken, in relation to the general timeframe of the Earths life. We stand here at the end of one vast, continuous line of previous species, in exactly the same way as any other creature that has lived on the Earth has stood at the end of their line of previous species.
We stand, then, at the end of this ancestral line knowing that for homo sapiens, this is the end; we will be the final species of our lineage. This sounds almost brutal, and almost certainly negative, however it is meant to be neither, but purely a statement of fact regarding our place in the evolutionary cycle of the Earth: we are, put simply, not subjected to the same evolutionary stimulus as our ancestors.
Homo sapiens are the culmination of all Earths’ species in a quest to find a species intelligent enough to remove themselves from the Earth’s evolutionary constraints, and "Politik" is just one piece of the jigsaw in the understanding of our place in life.
