Guests at a special press brunch for the International POW WOW in Orlando were treated to some of Orlando’s “unexpected” offerings, including a one-of-a-kind gift, a pen designed exclusively for the event by Originality, Inc. and created by local glass artist, Tammy Osczepinski.

As part of the 2006 International POW WOW, the travel industry's premier international marketplace, the Orlando/Orange County Convention and Visitors Bureau hosted a press brunch at the Mall of Millenia on May 7th to highlight some of Orlando’s “unexpected” offerings. Guests were treated to performances by the Cirque du Soleil, Orlando Ballet, Orlando Opera and Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra as well as art displays, models featuring the latest fashions from Neiman Marcus, and keepsake gifts designed by Originality, Inc.

Press brunch organizers brought in Originality, Inc., a gift design firm based in Orlando, to create a piece that would showcase Orlando’s thriving arts and cultural community. “We are so excited and honored to be able to design the gifts for this event and to highlight the Orlando art community,” said Melinda Tomasello, Principal of Originality, Inc. “We spent many hours searching for just the right artist and medium. After discovering the unique work of local glass artist, Tammy Osczepinski, we knew that both she and her artwork would capture the essence of Orlando. Her work is fresh, new and exciting.”

At the conclusion of the spectacular brunch, attendees were wowed with a stunning display of gifts. Each member of the international press was presented with an art glass pen designed exclusively for the event. The gifts highlighted one of the world’s oldest art forms, lampworking, which uses a torch and metal rod called a mandrel to create stunning glass beads. Each pen featured a glass bead adorned with the same colorful stars found in the 2006 POW WOW logo. “Our goal with this custom gift was to combine form and function – not only to give each attendee a piece of art from Orlando, but also to present a gift that can be used in everyday life,” adds Originality Principal, Pam Grimes. “By incorporating colorful “star-studded” graphics and custom packaging, we also sought to create a gift that would leave a lasting impression and convey a very special message about Orlando.”

This Orlando-inspired gift is just one example of how Originality’s unique designs fill a niche within the corporate gift industry – one that focuses on art, creativity and customization. For more information or a company press kit, please contact Originality, Inc. at 800-598-8662 or visit

About Originality:

Originality got its start in 2000, as Melinda Tomasello and Pam Grimes, friends for more than eight years, met over lunch to discuss their artistic and entrepreneurial visions. The two began formulating a business plan and incorporated their business just one month later. The business started in Orlando, and in 2002, the firm branched out to add an office in the Washington, D.C. area.

Since their initial meeting over 6 years ago, Tomasello and Grimes use their backgrounds in marketing, graphics and interior design to bring corporate gifting to a new level of excellence. Originality has created custom awards, in-room hospitality packages, corporate anniversary gifts and more for high profile events around the country. The design duo prides themselves on the fact that no two projects are ever the same. “We once thought about the idea of creating a catalog with set projects, but Pam and I love the creativity that comes with each project,” notes Tomasello. Every piece we create is well planned and attention is paid to the smallest of detail - I can’t think of a more exciting and gratifying business to be a part of.”
