Hidradenitis Suppurativa patients know that this disease is not just skin-deep. Pain and depression are a constant in their lives. HS-USA is proud to host the 3rd Annual HS Conference in beautiful Seattle, exploring new options to improve the lives of those afflicted with HS.
Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS), also known as Acne Inversa (AI), is a non-contagious, recurrent disease affecting inverse areas of the body. It typically manifests itself as painful, clusters of continuously seeping boil-like abscesses. HS is a shameful and debilitating disease and most patients go undiagnosed for years. The cause is currently not known and there is no cure. Many doctors are unable to diagnose the disease and the treatments most commonly used are the least effective and can even be harmful. (See What is Hidradenitis Suppurativa for more information)
Join us at the Holiday Inn Sea-Tac in beautiful Seattle June 15th to the 17th, for the 3rd Annual HS Conference hosted by the HS Northwest group and HS-USA, a public non-profit charity supporting HS patients and ground-breaking research. We have secured top speakers who will talk about the connection between chronic illness and depression and offer new approaches to managing pain. The program features sessions about Naturopathic Medicine, the topical use of cannabis tinctures, rubs, and new methods for pain management; as well as workshops on stress management and relaxation, such as Yoga.
Vix Kennedy, HS-USA, Inc. founder and president, states: "This is a unique opportunity for medical staff and patients to network and learn together and from each other."
