Around the Coyote, one of Chicago’s largest artist festivals, recognizes the work of a Chicago photographer and photo producer with a curator’s choice award.

Around the Coyote (ATC) is one of the largest and most diverse celebrations of the arts in the city of Chicago. Taking place September 8th, 9th and 10th thousands of art collectors, dealers and visitors will converge on the Bucktown and Wicker Park neighborhoods. Each year, hundreds of painters, photographers, sculptors, actors, performance artists, dancers, poets, and filmmakers participate in this unique opportunity to exhibit and sell their work to visitors from the United States and abroad. The festival brings together neighborhood galleries, schools and non-profit arts organizations under one umbrella with private art studios and local businesses which, for the weekend, transform themselves into public galleries. In addition to the visual art exhibitions, neighborhood theaters and bars host performances both impromptu and scheduled throughout the weekend.

Around the Coyote has been a staple of Chicago’s artist community for nearly 20 years and has become a highly respected festival to showcase work from local, national and international artists. This year the Around the Coyote Festival has singled out one of Chicago’s most up and coming photographer and photo shoot producer Lynn Renee Persin. The guest curator Tricia Van Eck, curator at the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art, has selected artworks for inclusion in the "Curator's Choice", a small group of work deemed "best of the fest" on view at the Around the Coyote Gallery (1935-1/2 W. North Ave.) Lynn Renee Persin was thrilled to receive this recognition for her life’s passion.

“I shoot because there is nothing in the world I’d rather do. Ever since I was a small child I’ve had some form of camera in my hand. The day my mother brought my sister home from the hospital I was 3 years old and I shot her with my Fisher Price camera. Capturing that moment was my top priority and over the years my medium has transformed tremendously, but I haven’t changed a bit.” Lynn Renee Persin

Since then Lynn Renee has seldom been seen without a camera in her hand. Her passion has developed since her “Fisher Price” days and over the past 27 years her skills have gone through a metamorphosis and have turned into an undeniable talent. One of Lynn Renee’s most natural talents is her ability to capture people, their emotions and their stories.

One of the images that Lynn received her curator’s choice award was of her Great Aunt Betty. The setting for the shoot, her Aunt’s house; a time capsule filled with antiques, artifacts, collectibles and characters from her previous life. This was the perfect environment for Lynn Renee to capture not only the details of her possessions, but of her face and spirit as well.

While photography is one of Lynn Renee’s greatest passions she has been able to turn her abilities and drive into a very successful photo production business. Lynn Renee Productions has been a thriving production business for over four years putting together photo shoots for major campaigns including, Discover Card, Clorox, Converse, Coke Cola & Famous Footwear. Lynn Renee is hands on doing whatever it takes to ensure a successful shoot even when working with tight budgets and even tighter deadlines. Lynn Renee Productions is a full service Production Company that handles every aspect from estimation to final invoicing and all of the details in between.

Lynn Renee’s curator’s choice work will be featured at the Around the Coyote Gallery from the beginning of the festival through the end of September. Additional work of Lynn Renee will be featured during the ATC festival at the Wicker Park Field house, 1425 N. Damen booth 16.
