The International Association of IT Asset Managers, Inc. (IAITAM) announced the 2006 Annual Conference and Exhibition will be held Oct. 18-20 at the Renaissance Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio. This year’s 50’s Rock theme, in keeping with Cleveland’s landmark Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will help create a feeling of nostalgia and fun with industry experts featured as keynote speakers for each day of the event. Event highlights feature an evening at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Day 2. For those interested in networking before the conference, a pre-conference evening at the House of Blues is being sponsored by IAITAM at discounted rates.
Lev Gonick, VP of IT at Case Western Reserve University, has been designated the keynote speaker for the first day of the conference. He will be sharing his experience of the impact that IT Asset Management and its motivating factors have made on an organization. Lev’s experiences in the world of IT management, provides a fresh perspective and a fascinating glimpse at the thought process of today’s executive manager.
Dario Atallah, Senior Strategist and Program Manager for Sun Microsystems, will discuss “Surfing through the Asset & Configuration Management Maturity Curve.” Learn the difference between asset tracking, asset management, and configuration management. Determine the importance of facilitating the use of open systems and standards to allow business applications to interact with each other. As keynote speaker for day two, Atallah will examine how a company can best work within itself and with its customers.
Peter Frazza, a partner of Budd Larner, P.C., keynote speaker for day three, will examine issues relating to the preparation and negotiation of license agreements. As Chairperson of Budd Larner’s computer law group, Frazza is uniquely qualified to address contract compliance issues.
