Local Author Aids in Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts

New Orleans author, Amy Cyrex Sins, is conducting several book signings in the metropolitan area. Her book is one way of helping preserve our valuable coastline and our life, culture, family and food.

Ascension Parish native, New Orleans resident and Author, Amy Cyrex Sins is pleased to announce several scheduled book signings for her new cookbook Ruby Slippers Cookbook: Life, Culture, Family and Food After Katrina.

Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the Barnes and Noble Mandeville located at Premier Center II, 3414 Highway 190 Suite 10, Mandeville, LA 70471 from 2-4 p.m. During the event Amy will be signing books and offering a sampling of some of her favorite recipes.

Saturday and Sunday October 14th and 15th at Houma's House Plantation and Gardens in Darrow, LA for the Awesome Art in Autumn Gardens event. Amy will be signing books from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday. During Saturday's event, Amy will be signing books and offering samples of some of her favorite recipes.

Ruby Slippers Cookbook: Life, Culture, Family and Food After Katrina, is a 232-page, coffee table style volume now available for sale at leading retail outlets. The book gives food lovers the opportunity to enjoy fabulous New Orleans and Louisiana style cuisine at home while also helping a good cause.
