BASiX Automation Integrators -- pioneers in building systems automation -- installs VoIP solution for its own operation to cut costs and improve workforce productivity, and sees opportunity to help other SMBs do the same.

HAMPTON, NH, October 28, 2006--BASiX Automation Integrators, Inc. (formerly Engineered Systems, Inc.) has been appointed Elite Partner for Vonexus' flagship product, Enterprise Interaction Center (EIC), the recipient of Internet Telephony Magazine's 2005 Product of the Year. With this partnership, BASiX is the sole systems integrator in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont to offer the Vonexus solution.

BASiX Automation Integrators, New England's leading independent building automation systems integrator initially short listed Vonexus as a potential solution to streamline its own voice and data communications and lower telephony costs. They were so impressed with the robust features and the ease of installation, BASiX approached Vonexus to represent EIC, to offer the solution to other small to medium sized businesses (SMBs) and its own customers, primarily commercial and industrial organizations, institutions and manufacturing facilities throughout New England.

"EIC is a natural fit for us," explains BASiX CEO, Glen Langley. "For more than 30 years, we've been helping companies integrate their operational infrastructure to deliver cost savings and energy efficiency. The Vonexus product (EIC) streamlines voice and data with internal communication and CRM tools for greater operational efficiency."

BASiX designs, installs and supports environmental control systems that reduce energy bills, increase building security and integrate HVAC, fire, lighting and security systems. By adding EIC -- the only 100 percent Microsoft-based VOIP system -- to the BASiX offering, BASiX is able to deliver a total software-based IP PBX solution that integrates voice and data, manages calls, faxes, emails, messaging and chats for office staff and mobile workforces. "Cutting communication (voice and data) bills by 30 to 40 percent represents a significant savings to small to medium-sized businesses," Langley says. "However, SMBs have been slow to adopt VoIP business systems because they fear of quality inconsistency in voice calls, and worry about the general disruption that migrating to a new system might cause."

Langley said that his fears about moving his own company to a VoIP solution were allayed when his network administrator had their system up and running in 24 hours. BASiX employs a mobile workforce, which makes service calls and responds to emergencies across three states. "There was absolutely no pain in moving to the EIC system," states Langley. "In addition, we now have greater visibility with our staff and can more efficiently manage our own workforce, whether internally or in the field."

Because of its own experience, BASiX is now spreading the word. "As an SMB, we understand the pain points associated with making a significant operational change," said to Ray Lagerberg, Network Administrator for BASiX. "I was probably the most reticent to move to a new system because of the investment we had in our existing voice and data network, and not worrying about downtime for our clients, but once I saw the benefits and the simplicity to get us up and running, I was sold." Before moving to a VoIP business system, BASiX offers and recommends a network infrastructure analysis to determine the capacity of and quality of the broadband connection.
