Chicago, IL (PRWEB) December 30, 2006
GlobeTrade.com has announced that its founder and president, Laurel Delaney, has been named to the 2006 Irish America Magazine Business 100. The distinction celebrates the entrepreneurial and business success of Irish-Americans. GlobeTrade.com is a Chicago-based management consulting and marketing solution enterprise designed to help entrepreneurs and small businesses go global.
Delaney, a renowned global business expert, is one of just 10 women to be named to the list of 100 this year. She joins the ranks of a distinguished and diverse membership roster that includes Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, Conan O'Brien and Bono. Other 2006 honorees include James McCann, founder of 1-800-flowers.com; Alan Lafley, chairman, president and CEO of Proctor & Gamble; and Anne Mulcahy, chairman of the board and CEO of Xerox Corporation. "I am thrilled to see my work recognized, and I'm humbled to share this prestigious award with so many accomplished people," Delaney remarked.
"I am deeply indebted to my colleagues, to Irish America Magazine, and to the sponsors who initiated and supported my nomination," Delaney said. "I also have to say thank you to my parents, Tom and LaVerne Delaney, and to my husband, Bob Marovich. Without their unconditional love, encouragement, and understanding, my personal journey would not be nearly so special. To me, the Irish version of the American Dream means combining a vision of the seemingly impossible with a plan to make it happen -- and never giving up."
Irish America's 2006 Business 100 Honorees list is available online at http://www.irishamerica.com/. An awards event recognizing the 2006 honorees will take place on January 11, 2007, at The Boston College Club in Massachusetts.
