Marin Shakespeare Company Sets Stage for 2007 Summer Season

Hilarity and Henry presented outdoors under the summer stars.

The award-winning Marin Shakespeare Company (San Francisco North Bay Area's only professional Shakespeare theater company) presents its 2007 season from July 6 through September 29, 2007. The outdoor festival features a season of hilarity and Henry with three plays presented under the summer stars at Dominican University of California's Forest Meadows Amphitheatre in San Rafael, California.        

Marin Shakespeare Company presents "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)" directed by Robert Currier featuring Marin Shakespeare Company favorites Darren Bridgett and Jarion Monroe and new company member Ryan Schmidt. Opening July 6 this popular farce features three actors trying to perform all of Shakespeare in two hours with hilarious results.

Audiences also have the rare opportunity to enjoy the two great Falstaff plays performed in repertory. "Henry IV, Part I" and "Henry IV, Part II," directed by Robert Currier and Rob Clare, run from Aug. 17 to Sept. 29. The Bay Area's own Jarion Monroe will be featured in the title role. Following a national search, Marin Shakespeare Company is proud to introduce Stephen Reynolds of Los Angeles as Falstaff and Grant Goodman of New York as Prince Hal.

Marin Shakespeare Company offers "Super Saturday" events on Aug. 25, Sept. 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 featuring "Henry IV, Part I" presented at 4 p.m., followed by a catered dinner with a Director's Chat and "Henry IV, Part II" presented at 8 p.m. The "Super Saturday" dinner is $30 per person. Performance ticket & beverages are additional.

Marin Shakespeare Company offers several discount programs including Family Day Matinees, Pay What You Will Performances, Elder Day Performances and Student Matinee Performances.

Marin Shakespeare Company has free parking and is located near public transit. Its Forest Meadows Amphitheatre is opened one hour prior to show time for picnicking and patrons are welcome to bring their own picnics or purchase snacks at the Theatre Café. The amphitheater features comfortable bench seating. Warm clothing, jackets and blankets are recommended for evening performances. Please call the box office for special parking needs.

Performance tickets are $15 to $30 with general admission costing $27.50 per person if purchased in advance.
