Mercury Brightman: The First Sign is an original fantasy epic about a 13-year-old girl who discovers her magical heritage of unbelievable possibilities in a world called Thera. Torn from her home in Baltimore, Maryland, Mercury embarks on a magical journey across Thera, to fulfill her mysterious destiny. Both Thera and Earth are endangered by a cruel and malicious dynasty, which seeks to rule and annihilate anything in its path. Together Mercury and her new friends, two faeries Mya and Jude, must travel far to save both worlds from this imminent and catastrophic threat.

Mary E. Gober wrote Mercury Brightman: The First Sign because she wanted to write a book she would want to read and share with others. Over the past five years Mary has developed a deep and meaningful story about faith, truth, justice and all their companion virtues. In many ways, Mercury is a realist, struggling with her own identity and self-confidence. Only in Thera is she able to discover what she is capable of if she has the power to believe in herself. It is with this conviction that Mary, came to believe in herself and her dreams and make Mercury Brightman: The First Sign happen with Lulu.
