Marotta Controls is pleased to announce that Tom Jelinek has joined Marotta as Director of Business Development, Marine and Land Systems. Tom is a seasoned veteran of the marine industrial community who has served for more than three decades in virtually every capacity.

"Tom brings an incredible wealth of talent and experience to Marotta and we are pleased to have him on our team," said Michael Leahan, Vice President and Chief Sales Officer Marotta Controls. "Tom's 33 years of experience as an entrepreneur and engineer give him a well rounded perspective which compliments Marotta's objectives."

Tom's flair for business development began in 1973 when he spun off the ball valve line from Gulf & Western and launched the Portland Valve Company. After 10 years he sold the company but continued on to drive all areas of the business from assembly and test, production, and quality, to contract administration and sales. In the late 1980s, Tom was commissioned to find new projects for the company, and concentrated his efforts on new business development.

Passionate about bringing the best products to his clients, Tom will be responsible for launching some of the larger strategic initiatives across Marotta's Marine and Land Systems division, as well as bolstering Marotta's repair and aftermarket business.

Active in the shipbuilding industry, Tom is a regional manager of the Submarine Industrial Base Council and a member of the Aircraft Carrier Industrial Base Council. He earned his BS in Science and Metallurgical Engineering at Notre Dame.
