Eighties pop pioneers Naked Eyes will release an all-new CD entitled "Fumbling With The Covers" on Tuesday, July 31st. The eagerly anticipated album will be released by Oglio Records, and distributed through Fontana/Universal. "I've been a Naked Eyes fan since my high school years and I consider it a real treat to be working with Pete Byrne on this fun and contemporary project" says Oglio Entertainment President Carl Caprioglio. The ten-song collection includes songs originally recorded by The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Elton John and Cat Stevens, along with versions of the Naked Eyes top ten hits "Always Something There To Remind Me," "Promises, Promises," and "When The Lights Go Out."
When singer/guitarist Pete Byrne's band mate Rob Fisher tragically passed away as the band was about to reform, Byrne decided that the best course of action was to start the new project where it had begun all those years ago back in Bath, England. "I had the title and I went looking for the songs that inspired me to be in a band in the first place," he recalls. That quest culminated in a group of songs that are as interesting as they are timeless. Byrne explains "I wanted to record songs from some of my favorite artists, but not the hits everyone knows…I looked for those songs that seemed to go a bit deeper." "Fumbling With The Covers" brings together a wide variety of songs from unrelated artists and makes each and every one of them, decidedly…Naked Eyes.
