Three Years into the SB 899 Reforms, is California Better Off?

Share Article

Three years into the implementation of the SB 899 reforms, there are continuing challenges confronting employers and other stakeholders in California. There has been a marked increase in appellate litigation leaving the stakeholders in the system confused and bewildered as they await the final word on apportionment, PD ratings, and other key issues. Many are asking: -Has the reform implementation been true to the intentions of the SB 899 legislation? -Has there been a significant reduction in costs? -What is the impact on large and small employers? Public and private sector? -How has the insurance industry been impacted? -Are the reforms being threatened by pull-back legislation? What further legislation is needed to address the remaining challenges?

The 5th Annual California Workers’ Comp Forum taking place October 17-19 at the Hyatt Regency, Huntington Beach, features keynote presentations from industry leaders will address these issues and provide critical updates and solutions to the continuing challenges in California workers’ comp.
