Announcing the Launching of a New Satirical Website for the Fictional City of New Hopeville, Iowa

The Unofficial Website For New Hopeville, Iowa, will satirize life in small-city America and the leaders that run it. The site is established by a committee of citizens in order to expose and, hopefully, root out corruption and abuse of power.

The Committee for Honest Government, formed by some of New Hopeville's leading residents, has taken the unusual and radical step of launching the Unofficial Website For New Hopeville, Iowa, with the express purpose of drawing attention to corruption and abuse of power emanating out of City Hall.

New Hopeville is a great little American city whose spotless image has been besmirched recently by the actions and non-actions of the mayor and councilmembers. It is hoped that by shining a bright light with this website on all the corruption and self-serving that has characterized this administration, New Hopeville will regain the reputation of a clean and corrupt-free community of which everyone can be proud. It is recommended that people frequently visit the site to learn all about the great things New Hopeville has to offer its citizens and its visitors.

The Committee For Honest Government recognizes that this Unofficial Website might discourage visitors from coming. It is hoped that this will not be the result. Our city has five motels that charge less per night than the Motel 6 chain does. Two of the five motels have recently invested in state-of-the-art window screens which will keep out even the smallest insects. Because of the upcoming presidential caucuses, our city expects many visitors--reporters from TV and newspapers--that will welcome ice machines in every room.

Investors looking for opportunities that are available in New Hopeville, should be aware that corruption will not be a factor for ever. Those in office presently will probably not remain long in their position after planned re-call campaigns are initiated. China has already expressed interest in buying a number of factories and Sally's School of Ballroom Dancing chain.
