This is the second year the company has received the coveted award, which is given under the auspices of Germany's federal economic initiative. matrix42 maintains U.S. operations based in Atlanta.
Companies included in the "Top 100" were chosen based on the following criteria: success in innovation, innovative climate, innovative processes and organization, upper management's facilitation of innovation, and marketing innovation.

The search for the "Top 100" companies is conducted annually by experts in innovation from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, under the leadership of Dr. Nikolaus Franke. The initiative is organized by Überlinger compamedia GmbH. Each of the 100 companies will be featured in Lothar Späth's book "Top 100 - The 100 Most Innovative Medium-Sized Companies in Germany."
