I spent months researching a charitable partner whose mission was aligned with ours.

Dress for Success L.A. and MyGirlfriendsCloset.com have joined forces to bring more career clothing, development and education to disadvantaged women. Janet Lavender, Founder of Dress for Success Los Angeles, recently appointed CEO and Founder of MyGirlfriendsCloset.com, Nichole Addario Di Modica, as chairwoman of the Young Executives for Success (Y.E.S.) committee.
Young Executives for Success (Y.E.S.) provides its members with volunteer, fundraising and networking opportunities to champion the mission of Dress for Success, an international not-for-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women. MyGirlfriendsCloset.com specializes in brokering sales between buyers and sellers of new and gently used apparel and accessories for women. The site also offers "Boutiques", available to established designers and successful shops as a more advanced selling platform for new items without the major financial obligations of maintaining their own site. Recycling clothing on MyGirlfriendsCloset.com is an eco-friendly and financially rewarding solution to eliminating closet clutter.
Dress for Success L.A was founded by Janet Lavender over 10 years ago when she found herself homeless and on welfare after losing her job in the financial industry where she'd worked for over 20 years. After spending a year in a women's shelter and earning a business degree, Janet got back on her feet determined to help other disadvantaged women because she knew how difficult it was to get back into the workforce without appropriate clothing and development.
"Aligning Dress for Success L.A. with MyGirlfriendsCloset.com is a perfect fit given the business model," notes Lavender. "MyGirlfriendsCloset.com has everything women are looking for with options to sell their new and gently used clothing, shopping, and so much more."
"I'm thrilled to be partnered with Dress for Success to give back to women in a way that benefits them personally, while also benefiting society as a whole," comments Addario-DiModica. "I spent months researching a charitable partner whose mission was aligned with ours."
