Lanny Sherwin's new children's CD, "I Like Being Me!", was named a Gold Award winner in the 2007 National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA) Children's Products competition. This distinction recognizes "I Like Being Me!" as a standout among toys, books, DVDs, video games, music and spoken-word recordings available for children today.
"NAPPA-winning products meet the most stringent criteria and are judged by nationally recognized industry experts, educators, reviewers and advocates in their fields," says NAPPA Manager Barbara Smith Decker. "When parents see the NAPPA Gold or Honors seal on winning products, they're assured of a high quality, fun and educational experience for their children."
Sherwin is President of Sandman Records and is the recipient of 27 songwriting awards. The new "I Like Being Me!", for 4 - 9 year olds, is a fun-filled addition to Sandman Records' award-winning series of children's CDs. Featuring 11 original songs by Sherwin, "I Like Being Me!" combines clever lyrics with cool grooves. The CD is fun & funky but also delivers many positive messages for children. "The lyrics are a combination of silly and serious but also teach kids about life: social skills, values, respecting the environment, and - uh - having stinky feet!," says Lanny. "There's plenty of humor in I Like Being Me!, something we all need more of in today's world."
"I Like Being Me!" is available nationwide including Borders, Amazon, iTunes, CDBaby, and the Sandman Records website (http://www.SandmanRecords.net). Sandman Records, whose motto is "Don't Drive Parents Crazy!, has been creating children's music since 2001. A portion of Sandman Record's proceeds benefits the Spina Bifida Association of America, numerous preschools, hospitals and children's nonprofits nationwide. Other Sandman Records CDs include "Turn Up the Music!" and the 2-CD "Dream With Me Tonight" lullaby series.
