Myrtle Beach, SC (PRWEB) October 24, 2007
Martin's PGA TOUR Superstore, with locations in Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach, S.C. is beginning the busy fall golf season by sponsoring nearly a dozen local golf tournaments during the month of October. Funds raised during the events will help to support a variety of worthy causes including The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Wednesday, October 17, Martin's PGA TOUR Superstore sponsored a tournament to benefit the Victory Junction Gang Camp. The camp opened its doors in 2004 and was founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty. Victory Junction Gang Camp enriches the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses by providing camping experiences in a safe and medically sound environment. Most campers at Victory Junction would not otherwise be able to attend camp because of their medical needs.
"We are pleased to be in a position to sponsor tournaments for such great causes," said Steve Conwell, vice president of marketing and community relations for Golf & Tennis Pro Shop, Inc., which owns and operates Martin's PGA TOUR Superstore. "Our commitment to being involved and helping improve the communities in which we operate is a driving force behind our many tournament sponsorships."
So far this year, Martin's PGA TOUR Superstore has donated thousands of dollars in support of charitable events. Several more tournament sponsorships are scheduled during Nov. and Dec.
