TechiesClubHouse.com (http://www.techiesclubhouse.com) is a new community meant for tech professionals. It's basically another social networking site but geared towards engineers, IT and other tech professionals. There are plenty of social networking sites with the most famous being Myspace, Friendster and Facebook. So, what makes TechiesClubHouse any better? For one, you can consider it a niche community meant for the tech professionals.
Basically, you get the features of most other social networking sites. You can look up friends, add others to your friend list, and most importantly, meet other tech professionals. Aside from the common features of a social networking site, the major focus for many visitors will be the discussion forums. One major section of the forums is dedicated to Career talk. For many people in the tech industry, seeking advice from others already in the industry can help a great deal. Or, a person can become a mentor for another person seeking advice on how to get their tech career started. Either way, it can be a great way to give or get advice.
Another section of the forums is dedicated to tech related discussions. Have a question or need help on a programming project? Post it and maybe a software engineer can help you or guide you in the right direction. While the majority of all social networking sites are geared towards meeting others, sharing photos and even posting videos, TechiesClubHouse's main content will be the discussion forums for all tech related talk.
One feature that's posted as coming soon may be the next biggest content for this site and that's the job listing board. Tech related jobs are booming and many tech professionals are always on the lookout for a new and better opportunity. It's commonplace for managers to change jobs every two to five years while climbing the corporate ladder to gain knowledge in different industries and so forth. It's almost the same in many tech related professions, although some would differ on this and tell you that you need to specialize when it comes to tech careers.
This site is extremely brand new as there are only a handful of members at the moment. However, if the creator of the site continues to do his homework, the site may be the next home on the net for all techies. The logo of the site includes the word "Beta" and in all engineering disciplines, the "Beta" phase is the final phase of testing and the majority of the time, the final "Beta" phase is open to the public as well and we have confirmed that the site is open to the public.
