Communities in Schools Houston is a campus-based, non-profit organization that works with at-risk students in grades pre-K through 12, as well as with their families and communities, to provide opportunity, hope and change. Communities in Schools removes obstacles to learning by providing and coordinating social services right on campus to ease the burden on parents, freeing teachers to teach and students to learn.

Each year, thousands upon thousands of children in the Houston area receive nothing during the holiday season. The goal of the Santa Sacks program is to make sure these children receive at least one gift for the holidays. In 2006 more than 2,000 Santa Sacks were filled and more than $13,000 in cash raised.

To help with the 2007 Santa Sacks program, you can make a donation (http://www.cishouston.org), or pick up a gift box at the Communities in Schools offices to fill.
