Taking Plastic Surgery To The People, Albany's Plastic Surgery Group Offers Free Cosmetic Surgery Seminars

It doesn't take any money or even a lot of time to learn a little about plastic surgery in Albany.

In its 10th Consumer Attitudes Study, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) reports that the country's approval of cosmetic surgery has reached an all-time high, with 62 percent of those responding in favor of cosmetic surgery. One possible reason for the surge in popularity may be that as more and more people elect plastic surgery -- the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) reports over 16,000,000 reconstructive, minimally-invasive and surgical cosmetic procedures in 2006 (a 20 percent increase over 2000's numbers) -- more and more women and men know a friend, family member or co-worker who's "had something done."

These people may or may not yet want or even ultimately need plastic surgery, but they at least want to know more. And, they would like to learn more in a less formal environment than that of a traditional, face-to-face consultation. For these people, Albany's Plastic Surgery Group has the answer-free plastic surgery seminars open to anyone in Albany, Clifton Park, Schenectady, Troy or Saratoga Springs who wants to know more about body contouring and facial rejuvenation.

"We want prospective patients to be informed," says board certified Albany plastic surgeon, Dr. Susan Gannon. "We recognize, though, that the idea of a sit-down consultation with a plastic surgeon can make some people a little nervous. It's maybe one reason why we're seeing a growing trend today for joint consultations among friends and family members. What we wanted to do at The Plastic Surgery Group with these free seminars was to provide a relaxed setting and a casual format in which friends and family members, or even just an individual who wants to learn more about plastic surgery in Albany, can do so."

The Plastic Surgery Group's next free seminar is on Thursday, December 6, 2007. The focus of the seminar will be on body contouring procedures in Albany, such as liposuction and tummy tuck, as well as on facial rejuvenation surgeries, like nose reshaping (rhinoplasty) and brow lift. Prospective patients will have the opportunity to learn more about a specific procedure they might be interested in, to ask questions, and if they desire, to even briefly meet with one of The Plastic Surgery Group's seven board-certified plastic surgeons. And, they get to do so with anonymity, and in a stress-free environment.

"We want to do everything possible," says Dr. Lynch, "to help educate patients about plastic surgery in Albany. We do this in several ways -- by providing a wealth of information on our Web site about today's most popular plastic surgery procedures; by offering free consultations to patients who request one online at http://www.theplasticsurgerygroup.net; and, by conducting these free seminars. We've even scheduled them at 7 p.m., so as to be convenient for working men and women."

Regardless of whether or not one is just starting to think about plastic surgery or has been considering a procedure for some time, The Plastic Surgery Group is giving patients options and, in the process, helping them to make better decisions about their bodies.
