BlitzCast Networks offers BlitzCast.tv, a new web-based live video broadcasting platform, and social-broadcasting network dedicated exclusively to console gamers. BlitzCast gives individual gamers the ability to broadcast live gaming competitions from their gaming consoles, and automatically store it to the "Online Film Room", using BlitzCast's Spectator software and the optional BlitzBox video capture unit. And the show doesn't stop there.
Didn't catch the live game? No problem. Users can get a recap of everything that happened in their leagues, gaming communities, and other gaming sites from around the web on BlitzCast's and LAGtv's flagship live hosted TV show, CSTN - described as being like ESPN and "Best Damn Sports Show Period for gamers". CSTN airs every Tues.,Thurs., and Sat., at 9 p.m. EST.
Users are raving. Says gamer, Bubon1c of the The Dis3as3 Clan, "The spotlight is definitely the hype. This helps to get our name out there, and with getting sponsors. Aaron Cain of GameTimePhilly boasts, "BlitzCast has made my Madden league much more exciting. Doing it Live in front of real fans and spectators, combined with the highlights on the CSTN show, makes it feel like the real NFL."
Live game broadcasting combined with gaming news coverage on CSTN has been a hit. BlitzCast's President, Dallas Moss attributes this success to the fact that BlitzCast built its entire system from the ground up, specifically for the console gamer. "We built our live encoder to work side by side with online gaming, a desktop recorder for gamer montages, automatic storage online for show highlights, plus we created hardware, the BlitzBox, a video capture unit, specifically for console gamers."
Moss adds, "What's more, is that for pro gamers and gamers who are trying to go pro, we're integrating tools to allow them to showcase their sponsors, while they're broadcasting. Sponsors now gain maximum exposure to the 'all important' 16-34 year olds, and the gamer gets to travel the globe to the various gaming events, in their quest for gaming glory."
BlitzCast is also one of the first live streaming sites to utilize Microsoft's new Silverlight media platform. "We've already invested in multiple media streaming platforms, including Flash Media. But, the flexibility and easy integration of the Silverlight platform was hard to ignore during development," states developer, Mecole Sanjave.
Gamers use BlitzCast's (http://www.blitzcast.com) new Spectator beta 2, live encoder and desktop recording software, to create a live spectator mode on any game console (Xbox360 & PS2/3), through their pc's. Users may use their own video capture device, or BlitzCast's own "BlitzBox" -- a video capture device designed for gamers, that allows users to stream from their PC's while watching their gameplay on their television at the same time. Users setup their own free BlitzCast.tv channel to broadcast and view games and even chat/socialize during game play. Users may also embed their channels' Microsoft Silverlight media-based viewers into their own websites, to showcase their games, as well as other games being broadcast across the network.
Through its joint venture with LAGtv Networks, BlitzCast introduced live, interactive online gaming shows -- CSTN and LAGtv (with G.I.R.L.tv, and more coming soon), where they deliver scores, standings, and recaps of matches of online tournament competitions, ladders, amateur and pro league sites such as MLG, GameBattles, NxGamers, Combat Arenas, etc., as well as live gamer interaction, interviews on the Xbox LIVE Vision Camera, and game reviews -- all promising to offer a spectacular gaming experience.
During its limited beta release, BlitzCast conducted broadcasts of live tournaments, pre-release and newly released games, and formed a network of partner gaming websites with an aggregate reach of over 1.5 million gaming enthusiasts.
