Washington, DC (PRWEB) August 22, 2008
Strauss Radio Strategies, Inc. (SRS), the nation's leading provider of strategic radio media relations services, today announced that political journalist Rebecca O'Halloran has joined the company as Account Executive. O'Halloran will conduct media outreach and provide radio public relations services for a number of SRS public affairs, corporate, and non-profit clients.
O'Halloran covered state and local government issues for multiple Illinois news organizations, most recently serving as news reporter at the Sun-Times News Group in Elgin, IL. In this role, O'Halloran reported on political and government issues for three local towns, and covered one of the State's largest school districts. Prior to the Sun-Times News Group, she followed the government beat for Copley Illinois Newspapers and filed in-depth stories spotlighting poverty in Galesburg, IL as part of an award-winning series.
"Communications professionals who have lived on the editorial side and understand how newsrooms work are ideally suited to helping our clients formulate media relations programs that deliver maximum impact," said Richard Strauss, President and Founder of Strauss Radio Strategies, Inc. "Rebecca is a tremendous addition to the staff and continues our commitment to offering clients unrivaled service from industry veterans with deep and wide editorial experience."
In addition to her news reporting background, O'Halloran most recently served as Policy Advisor with the Office of Illinois Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn, testifying at House committees regarding bills on education and veterans' rights and performing a variety of research and communications functions. With SRS, O'Halloran will build upon her public affairs and public policy background by working with clients including the U.S. Green Building Council, the U.S. Conference of Mayors, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
"What I found most unique about Strauss Radio Strategies is its commitment to working on important public policy issues and with non-profit organizations dedicated to admirable missions and causes," O'Halloran said. "I'm looking forward to joining a select, accomplished team and pursuing two areas that I find tremendously rewarding -- media outreach and public service."
