The American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence (ABCTE) has launched a new online teaching community for teachers who are working through the ABCTE program and for those who are in the classroom. The online forums are designed to provide a community for all teachers to exchange ideas, improve their practice, solve complex teaching problems and network for jobs.

"We are excited to provide these online forums to help our teachers become even more successful with their students," says Dave Saba, ABCTE president. "ABCTE teachers continue to see outstanding success in the classroom and we want them share what works with our newer teachers."

Since the introduction of the forums last week, there have been more than 500 visits to the online teacher forums. Discussion topics have ranged from state-specific certification requirements to how to secure a teaching job.

The online forums can be found at http://www.abcte.org/forums and include several discussion forums open to the public, as well as exclusive forums for ABCTE candidates. There are forums available for individuals interested in the program, enrolled candidates for certification, Teach & Inspire Scholarship Program participants, and those already teaching.
