Global Bay Mobile Technologies, Inc., a provider of award winning mobile enterprise application solutions, has been awarded the 2008 Mobile Enterprise Magazine Award for Best Customer Relationship Management Solution for their Mobile Point of Sale deployment for the Hampton Jitney bus company.
Hampton Jitney, based on Long Island, New York operates a fleet of luxury motor coach buses. Hundreds of thousands of people travel each year via Hampton Jitney's service between Eastern Long Island and New York City. Hampton Jitney wanted an easy to use handheld Mobile Point of Sale solution to streamline management of the complex on-board reservations and payment processes and to improve customer service.
Global Bay, in partnership with Motorola, SSE Technologies and Zebra Technologies, deployed a Mobile Point of Sale (POS) solution running on a Motorola MC70 rugged handheld device. The solution is an on-board customer reservation application and payment solution with integrated printing and magnetic card swipe.
Global Bay provided a customized solution designed to meet the specific business needs of Hampton Jitney for checking reservations, accepting payment and providing real-time reporting. The handheld solution removes potential for confusion and improves customer service by speeding up the payment process and providing for on-board printing of receipts. In addition, the solution is integrated to Hampton Jitney's enterprise reservations software for payment processing and customer reservation validation.
