For every five websites on the internet that serves very little purpose, there are sites like, which exist to help the needs of others. Specializing in emergency kits for a year, the website is currently adding new items and a new blog.

We hope that helping people prepare for disaster will allow them to avoid tragedy.

"No life's worth losing because we didn't take the time to prepare well," said Freda Walden, matter-of-factly.

Walden and her business partner, Teresa Calloway, are the proprietors of, a website that specializes in a variety of emergency and disaster kits. "These kits are relatively inexpensive and it's about getting the word out to people before disasters occur," continued Walden.

For a year, has been building a base and, in the process, making first aid kits, automobile emergency kits, bottled water, pet first aid kits, tools and assorted other supplies available for people to purchase at reasonable prices. Now at their first year anniversary, the site is making several changes that will continue to help people prepare themselves.

"We're going to get more safety items such as home safety, fire extinguisher and fire blankets," said Walden.

"We're also going to add an F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions) about emergencies on our site," added Calloway.

Alongside the new F.A.Q., the duo have also established and launched a new blog that will feature additional tips for how people can better prepare for the unforeseen catastrophes.

For the blog,, Calloway and Walden will also focus on current information (for October, they blogged about fire safety for Fire Safety Month). "We need to make people aware," explained Walden. "Winter is approaching and people don't think about disaster in the winter time and what is needed."

"We'll also have FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) information on the blog," said Calloway.

With an expansion and new information to share with others, is on the fast track to be one of the best websites on the internet. Their compassion for their fellow man is something that other website should take up and notice.

"This is just one way for us to help people," said Calloway. "We hope that helping people prepare for disaster will allow them to avoid tragedy."
