ColumbiaSoft, makers of the Document Locator document management system, announced it has seen a 16% increase in the number of customers using its software in 2008.

Renewed initiatives among some companies that are looking to improve efficiency and reduce exposure to risk as their operating margins narrowed have helped fuel a portion of the growth in ColumbiaSoft's customer base. ColumbiaSoft's continued product innovation, particularly in areas of information compliance and ease-of-use, also supported growth at the company this year. The company released two significant version upgrades to its Document Locator software: version 5.1 in January and version 5.2 in September. These new releases extended capabilities in the document management system for email archiving, digital signatures, document delivery, integrated searching, and more.

In addition, ColumbiaSoft grew its partner connections in 2008 among several leading software, hardware and service providers. A new relationship with Kodak provided for additional document imaging options; A new relationship with FirstCorp established new customer software financing packages; an existing relationship with Autodesk was extended and will lead to new product enhancements using Autodesk RealDWG technology; an existing relationship with Adobe was enhanced with a new integration to the Acrobat product line; and a 5-year Microsoft Gold Certified partner relationship was renewed with the Redmond, WA-based software company.
