this project was accomplished by the qualities that make this industry great - creativity, passion and collaboration. It was an inspiration to see such a diverse and talented group from all areas of the film industry come together for a truly worthwhile cause: to save the film industry from an unnecessary and possibly crippling blow.
El Segundo, CA (PRWEB) January 14, 2009
Wpromote Inc. is excited to announce that it has been hired as the marketing service responsible for seeding the newly released anti-actors-strike video. David Pringle and Eric Golden, the Executive Producers of the production, asked Wpromote to create the website SaveTheBiz.org. This site will act as host to the video as well as deliver information about the production. Wpromote has now seeded the video on sites such as YouTube, Facebook, MySpace, MetaCafe and many other outlets to effectively spread the message.
This film short was produced by a diverse group of movie industry professionals who donated their time, expertise and resources towards the cause. This group does not want to point a finger at any group for the ongoing dispute; they simply want to make their statement and this video does just that. The video explores the harsh reality of what a SAG strike would cost the movie industry and everyone involved. As the narrator explains, "The last strike cost California alone billions of dollars and over 37,000 jobs. Some of those jobs will never come back. Filming in LA County is now down to half of what it was 2 years ago. And now a dispute between the producers and the Screen Actors Guild may mean yet another strike." The message is clear - given the current state of the economy, an industry still recovering from a recent strike cannot afford or survive another.
James Cromwell, who plays both the Director and narrator in the film, contributed greatly to the production of this video. Cromwell said, "this project was accomplished by the qualities that make this industry great - creativity, passion and collaboration. It was an inspiration to see such a diverse and talented group from all areas of the film industry come together for a truly worthwhile cause: to save the film industry from an unnecessary and possibly crippling blow."
After the decision was made to create this video, the group responsible knew that they would need a viral marketing firm, like Wpromote, to get the video the attention it deserved in the online community. Viral marketing is a powerful tool to rapidly spread a message or drive awareness to a new cause. Wpromote has been involved every step of the way and is confident that its efforts will positively contribute to the impact this video has when members of the SAG make their final decision on whether or not to support the strike. Wpromote is proud to be a part of this important cause. Please visit SaveTheBiz.org to view the video and learn more about the negative impact an actor's strike would have on all parties involved.
