In an interview this week with Sales-Fax News, Charles Mayer, Vice President of Marketing, at Hawker Beechcraft Corporation, discusses their new campaign to offset recent criticisms of the private aircraft industry. Mayer says that what initially began as "a huge opportunity to show off how efficient our aircraft are has metamorphized into a defense of the industry."
According to Mayer, the private aviation industry is under "a full frontal assault" from politicians and media figures for having their own aircrafts "without thought to what corporate aviation does." Mayer asserts that there are times when businesses require their executives to move long distances quickly and to places that may be remote or have infrequent commercial airline access.
In another interview, Tom Aniello, Vice President of Marketing at Cessna, echoes Mayer's comments. In the Cessna campaign, the focus will be "to address misinformation on the business use of general aviation aircraft and to provide a more accurate picture of their value."
