Heritage Microfilm Releases "Heritage Microfilm - ACCESS" Blog

Heritage Microfilm has begun a blog discussing research database resources, digitized newspapers, and more entitled "Heritage Microfilm - ACCESS," adding user commenting, enhanced navigation, and social networking capabilities to the Heritage Microfilm website.

Heritage Microfilm, premier archiving vendor and preservation outfit, has launched a major upgrade to their website, introducing "Heritage Microfilm - ACCESS" blog linking their ACCESS NewspaperARCHIVE digital product with industry news, and discussions of digital archiving.

The new blog, written and moderated by Jamie Leon and Matt Kosman, is the first venture by Heritage Microfilm into the blogosphere. "I'm happy to have this opportunity to speak on a more personal level to anyone interested in digital archiving" said Jamie Leon, ACCESS Product Specialist for Heritage Microfilm. "It's nice to give our visitors and customers a resource that allows them to enter into dialogue, to learn and to teach."

Access NewspaperARCHIVE, located at http://access.newspaperarchive.com is a library interface to the popular NewspaperARCHIVE, which contains 95 million digital newspaper pages from 1759 to 2008.

Heritage Microfilm will grow its blog collection in the near future, with plans to add blogs discussing microfilm preservation, the newspaper industry, and digital imaging. The company has also recently launched an international initiative, with the intent of growing its global newspaper content.
