Events designed to illustrate the power of PAT and QbD for the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry.

CAMO Software AS, today announced, the successful completion of its European Seminar Series "Innovative approaches to Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing". During the last days of January and the first two weeks of February 2009, CAMO Software AS organized a series of Process Analytical Technology (PAT) seminars across various cities in Europe.

The events were designed to illustrate the power of Process Analytical Technology (PAT) and Quality by Design (QbD) for the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry. Having strategically organized the seminars in London, Frankfurt, Paris and Copenhagen, CAMO Software extended its opportunity to present its view on how multivariate data analysis (MVA) in conjunction with advanced control techniques perfectly suits the implementation of PAT/QbD.

"The interest the seminar series received and the response from the participants showed us that the topics we addressed are on the industry's agenda" says Brad Swarbrick, Pharmaceutical Business Development Manager at CAMO Software AS. Brad was the main presenter at all events and combined his own industry experience with a pragmatic and practical approach to PAT/QbD implementation. "Process analysers, process automation & control and knowledge management are key to PAT/QbD but Multivariate Data Analysis (MVA) is the cement that holds it all together", adds Brad Swarbrik.

"PAT and QbD, now more than ever, represent the future of global pharmaceutical development and manufacturing. Having the right systems in place with the right data analysis tools will mean the difference between a successful implementation and failure" confirms one of the seminar participants.

"We would like to thank our panel of expert presenters at the various seminars. Kim Esbensen, professor at Aalborg University, who joined as guest speaker in London and Copenhagen, Hilmar Krüger from Polytec who presented in Frankfurt and Julian Morris who presented in London." says Trond Amundsen Vice President , Business Development (Europe and Oceanic) . "The event in Paris was arranged in collaboration with Thermo Fischer Scientific and was hosted at their facilities"

"We would also like to thank all of those who attended the events and contributed to four interesting and educational events. We look forward to our continued discussions and collaboration." concluded Trond Amundsen.

The seminar participants acknowledged the various PAT aspects that were discussed along with CAMO Software solutions (both old and new), including some strategic alliances with process monitoring technology and quality system vendors.
