Who says business-to-business marketing isn't glamorous? Last week, Canyon Communications, a Mesa-based, full-service marketing communications firm, took to the stage six times to receive 2009 Copper Quill Awards from the Phoenix Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), demonstrating that strategic and effective marketing campaigns don't have to be consumer-facing to shine.

"Business-to-business marketing is hardworking, but seldom glamorous. That wasn't the case at the IABC Copper Quill Awards last week where b-to-b took the spotlight," said Nancy Landl, president, Canyon Communications. "It feels great to be recognized for our strategic work in b-to-b marketing, but the ultimate reward is delivering results that impact the bottom line for our clients."

Canyon's work for Agrium Advanced Technologies (AAT), a world leader in slow- and controlled-release fertilizer technologies, earned three Copper Quill Awards of Excellence. Canyon helped AAT to launch a new fertilizer product that required a great deal of re-education and strategy centered on pulling the product through the channel. Canyon's Copper Quill Awards of Excellence for AAT campaigns included promotional and marketing writing, marketing communications and special publication design.

"Planning and measurable communications that deliver results are two of our core beliefs at Canyon. These award-winning campaigns exemplify Canyon's commitment to delivering return on investment for our clients," said Landl. "We're honored to be recognized by IABC and congratulate the other winners."

Canyon also received three Awards of Merit including employee communications for RSC Equipment Rental, electronic communication design for Phoenix Environmental Care and in the print publications category for Canyon's "There's No Taste Like Home" Cookbook.
