Atlanta, Ga. (PRWEB) June 15, 2009
Vision TRE, Inc. announced today an exciting new venture promoting the Curitiba Offshore Center (CO), an association of high technology companies in the South of Brazil. On May 18th the Curitiba Offshore Center was inaugurated in Curitiba Brazil as a formal association of technology companies at an event titled "Evento de Lancamento Brazil IT & Curitiba Offshore Center". Vision TRE will be providing consulting support to evaluate opening a CO office in Atlanta Georgia this fall.
The event included speakers from Brazil IT, Softex, CITS, Solusoft, SEBRAE-PR, ASSESPRO-PR, GLTB/HSBC, APL de Software de Curitiba, Apex-Brazil and others including Henry Johns, the President of Vision TRE, Inc. Andre Limp of Apex-Brazil stated that the Brazilian government has funding available to support marketing IT outsourcing in Brazil. Robert Janssen, Director of Outsource Brazil, spoke of the capabilities of the Brazilian IT industry to compete in the outsourcing market but warned that large IT outsourcing companies in India see the advantages in Brazil too and are setting up operations there which will compete with Brazilian companies.
Henry Johns, President of Vision TRE, was invited to speak because of Vision TRE's long standing relationship with Cinq Technologies, a Curitiba based IT software factory. Vision TRE went into Brazil for offshore IT services five years ago when The Gartner Group and most other analyst groups put Brazil low on their list of outsourcing destinations. Today Brazil is a technology hot spot with Indian software giants like Infosys Technologies Ltd., Wipro Ltd., HCL America Inc., and Tata Consulting Services having or planning to establish offices there. Wipro has a BPO centre in Curitiba that provides services to AmBev, a leading brewery company.
Brazil is not a new frontier for India; in fact they are close trading partners. Indian businesses have proven that they can enter industries in Brazil. A good example is the Brazilian pharmaceuticals industry. Almost all the major Indian pharmaceutical companies like Ranbaxy Laboratories, Strides Acrolab, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Cadila Healthcare, Wockhardt Ltd, Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Torrent Pharma, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Unichem Laboratories, IPCA, etc., have established subsidiaries for manufacturing or marketing in Brazil.
According to Mr. Johns, Brazil and other South and Central American destination offer competitive partnering benefits that go far beyond low bill rates. "Building software is a collaborative art so if U.S. companies are looking for highly skilled professional teams that they can collaborate with in the same work day time zone, go south", said Mr. Johns. He went on to say that the most critical factor in software development and testing is defining good requirements and building good test cases and that this has to be done in close coordination with the business functional areas.
Vision TRE has been offering offshore IT staff augmentation services out of Curitiba Brazil through a partnership with Cinq Technologies since 2004. Cinq Technologies is considered one of the key IT-BPO companies in the city of Curitiba according to a 2009 KPMG report. They recruit and staff teams of English speaking IT professionals in Brazil that work remotely for Vision TRE's U.S. clients. "This partnership enables Cinq Technologies to have all the benefits of a U.S. based branch office", said Carlos Alberto Jayme, Director of Offshore Software Services at Cinq Technologies. Vision TRE provides U.S. based on site project management, customer relationship management, U.S. visa support, billing, business development and contract support out of Atlanta Georgia. According to Mr. Johns, the president of Vision TRE, Inc., "English skills are very important in IT staff augmentation because direct and frequent communication is critical". Brazil has a limited but growing number of English speaking IT professionals. Because of our partnership, depending on the team size and skills required, Vision TRE can usually staff a remote team and have it fully functional in 2 to 3 weeks.

The creation of the Curitiba Offshore Center is aligned with the goal of marketing the software industry of Curitiba as world class. Many companies and organizations have been working independently and redundantly to promote Brazil and Curitiba's potential as an offshore outsourcing destination.
