Diane Alverio, principal of D. Alverio & Co., was recently recognized by the Hartford Club with a Leadership Award for launching its "Women Who Dare" speaker series. The series features accomplished women from different fields who share their journeys to success. Now in its fourth year, Women Who Dare forums have been attended by women from the Greater Hartford region. Alverio also received an official citation from Connecticut State Comptroller Nancy Wyman, who congratulated her for her work to support empowering women in their personal and professional roles in life.
"This forum was created by the women members of the Hartford Club for all the women of the Greater Hartford region," says Alverio. "The Hartford Club has long stood as a symbol of the business world in this area. As the club today reflects the diversity of Connecticut's workforce, we are proud to showcase the business and professional achievements of women."
The Hartford Club is a city club that combines the unique values and traditions of the past with the modern-day needs of today's business world. Alverio served on its Board of Governors for four years, and has chaired the organization's marketing committee.
Her work on behalf of civic organization has also been recognized over the years by the Connecticut Girl Scouts Council, the City of Hartford, Progresso Latino Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Hartford, the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association and Central Connecticut State University.
