We need the people who believe in single payer to log on to our website and submit the request for a single payer meeting to the White House directly.
Portland, OR (PRWEB) August 27, 2009
Before embarking on their twenty-city, single payer caravan across America, a group of road-tripping Oregon physicians known as the "Mad As Hell Doctors" had one request: meet with President Obama to discuss a Single Payer plan for America. Less than 72 hours after they filed, they were denied.
"That was fast," says Dr. Joe Eusterman, Mad As Hell Doctor and retired physician from Wilsonville, Oregon. "I thought I was Mad as Hell before. Now I'm really angry! The President has completely turned his back on the Single Payer Nation without so much as a backwards glance. And what really bothers me is that he knows it's the right thing to do."
Dr. Paul Hochfeld, fellow Mad As Hell Doctor and producer of the documentary 'Health, Money and Fear' isn't giving up. "One of things that makes us Mad As Hell is elected officials doing the politically expedient thing instead of the right thing. It's time for this country to demand that our leaders stand on principle, not politics. So we're not taking 'no' for an answer."
The doctors have resubmitted their request to the White House and this time they are asking for support. "We need the people who believe in single payer to log on to our website and submit the request for a single payer meeting to the White House directly. " Hochfeld continues, "I want to strongly urge people to use the Mad As Hell Doctors site to contact the White House today. Because if single payer has any hope at all, President Obama needs to hear from all of us right now. And in huge numbers."
