Galena Fest and The Bloody Rose are here to stay

Employees and family of QuinStreet's Reno, Nevada office volunteered at Galena Fest 2009 last Sunday. This new community event, highlighted by two mountain bike climbs, The Bloody Rose and The Thorn, raised funds to staff and supply the Galena Creek Regional Park.
More than 500 people enjoyed a beautiful day at the Galena Creek Regional Park, listening to live music and participating in activities including children's mountain bike races, a big fish fishing contest, and sand castle and "apple art" stations. However, the highlight of the event was the grueling 11.7 mile "Bloody Rose" mountain bike race starting at Galena Creek Park and following the old Mt. Rose highway, a steep dirt track, to the top of Relay Peak. Ninety riders raced in the inaugural event, and many are already looking forward to next year's race.
"Galena Fest and The Bloody Rose are here to stay," Galena Fest Founder, Richard Keillor said. "Galena Fest is so thankful for the ongoing commitment and support of QuinStreet and the Reno office. They were instrumental in helping us promote Galena Fest before the event and were very much in evidence on the day itself."
QuinStreet volunteers helped with parking, vendors, and children's activities on the day of the event. In addition, members of QuinStreet Reno office managed the online marketing and website maintenance for the event.
QuinStreet has chosen to support Galena Fest because of its importance to the people of Reno. It is the first community wide fundraiser of its kind in the Reno area, with funds going directly to Galena Creek Regional Park.
