Tridon Industries now offers a thermography service for the residential and commercial markets.

Up until thermal imaging existed, installing insulation in existing walls was hit or miss

In keeping with its Vision Statement of becoming the leader in its industry, Tridon Industries, an installer of insulation and fireproofing products, is pleased to announce the launch of its new thermography service, geared toward the residential and commercial markets.

The thermography service, which the company has dubbed its "Weatherization Consultation Service," includes a whole-building visual walk-through and infrared inspection of residential and commercial properties. During the hour-long inspection, the inspector is looking for ways to help owners save money on utility bills while making their buildings more energy efficient. With the help of a thermal imaging camera, the inspector will be able to tell the owner where air leakage is occurring, for example, and where insulation may be missing or insufficient. They are also looking for causes of other common problems, such as drafty rooms, rooms that are hard to heat or cool, and issues with mold and mildew.

As part of the package, the company issues a comprehensive report, complete with thermal images of the building that will show -- in detail - what the building needs, what the owner's options are, and how Tridon can possibly help solve the owner's issues.

Offering a thermal imaging service seemed a natural progression for the company, which has been installing insulation in residential and commercial buildings for 12 years. With the increased emphasis on reducing greenhouse gases through green initiatives, the company sees their weatherization consultations as a way to offer an additional service to their existing customers, while allowing new clients to benefit as well from lower energy bills, increased energy efficiency, and tax incentives. The company also hopes their new service will give them an edge in the increasingly competitive marketplace.

The company is specifically targeting older residential and commercial buildings where the existence and condition of wall insulation is unknown. "Up until thermal imaging existed, installing insulation in existing walls was hit or miss," says the company's president and owner, Mary Beth Yannessa. "You couldn't always tell what was hidden behind the walls of a building. Now, with a thermal imaging camera, we can."
