Expansive, peaceful and centered - this is the way we feel after a sweaty yoga practice. But is it possible to achieve this same state, without the sweat, the poses or the class?

Yes it is, and anyone can do it. InnerYoga provides non-physical techniques that are accessible to everyone. All that is required is a desire to feel better and the willingness to turn your attention inward. InnerYoga tools are simple, practical and can be used anywhere, at any time. These tools become your own and are with you wherever you go, always available and able to support you through the day-to-day challenges that arise.

Dina Amsterdam is the creator of InnerYoga, and will be offering an introductory Workshop called InnerYoga: "How to Relax in Times of Stress." It is specifically designed for non-yogis, and will be held at Yoga Tree in San Francisco.
Participants will learn to:

  •     Free the mind from obsessive thinking
  •     Unwind body tensions effortlessly
  •     Use yogic breath techniques to feel open and relaxed
  •     Shift your emotional state
  •     Feel more at peace, optimistic, and aware of options
  •     Identify body and mind stress, and learn how to find greater inner ease

InnerYoga student Sep Kamvar, a Stanford professor and author of We Feel Fine: An Almanac of Human Emotion says "InnerYoga has realigned my relationship with myself. It improved my physical sense of well-being and my creativity at work. The practices of InnerYoga foster an inner awareness and presence that continue to guide me on a day-to-day path that feels authentic and replenishing."

InnerYoga, according to its founder, Dina Amsterdam, is rooted in the philosophy that “the most life-changing aspects of yoga are not dependent upon a physical practice - they happen from the inside and are the result of a shift in perception, attitude, and presence.”

Dina Amsterdam began her yoga journey 20 years ago and has been teaching since 1994. Dina was selected as the “Best ‘Classic’ Yoga Instructor in San Francisco” by SF Magazine. She's been featured in many publications including the LA Times, Yoga Journal, SF Magazine, Natural Health Magazine, Women’s Health, Yogi Times, SF Weekly, and The Huffington Post. Dina has conducted InnerYoga workshops for several organizations, including Nike, Bank of America, Planned Parenthood, AAA, and The Corporation for National Service (AmeriCorps). Dina is based in San Francisco and offers workshops and retreats internationally.

Tim Dale, co-founder of Yoga Tree SF explains why they are excited to host InnerYoga, “We at Yoga Tree are always trying to find ways to integrate yoga into our lives and find ways to help all people on a daily basis. . . InnerYoga is not just for yogis.”
