Maine Offers "Shop, Dine & Stay" Packages

Dozens of new packages are offered during the holiday season

Nubble Light, located along the south coast of Maine, is decorated each year for the holiday season.

Maine restaurants, accommodations and shopping destinations are working together to offer early winter vacation packages during the state Office of Tourism’s new “Shop, Dine & Stay” visitor promotion.

Dozens of getaways with lodging, meals and shopping are now available online by selecting the “Shop, Dine & Stay” category on the Maine Office of Tourism’s Getaways search page (http://www.visitmaine.com/package/search/.)

Most packages are offered through December, while others run through late winter. Restaurants of all types, boutique shops, outlets, Maine made products, B&Bs, inns, resorts, and hotels are all part of the promotion.

A sampling of “Shop, Dine & Stay” packages include:

  •     One night at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Wilton. A $25 voucher for lunch for two at The Homestead restaurant in Farmington, and a packet of coupons for Farmington shops. $89.99 per room through Jan. 31.
  •     Two nights at the Rhumb Line Resort in Kennebunkport. A $25 dinner certificate for use at five area restaurants and more than $500 in coupons for Kittery and Freeport outlet stores. From $99 per person midweek, and $119 on weekends through Dec. 30.
  •     Two nights in a new Coveside Guest House at New England Outdoor Center in Millinocket with a three course dinner and wine at River Drivers Restaurant. Shop for original paintings, sculptures and carvings at nearby Northlight Gallery. $95 per person per night through Dec. 30.
  •     Two nights at the Lord Camden Inn with a welcome gift of a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries. A $75 dinner certificate for two to Peter Ott’s Restaurant, and a $25 voucher for use at Maine Sport Outfitters or Camden Shoe Company. From $298 per night through Dec. 31.
